Joe Schnaier: A Man with a Vision for A Green World
A vision for something beautiful and extraordinary is not given to a committee but it is given to an individual. Such was the exact thing that happened to Joe Schnaier. He had a vision for a green world; a world where the original design of nature is preserved. The climate, the plants, the animals and all habitation was designed to complement and replenish each other, thus creating a sustainable world with clean air, ideal temperatures and healthy food for mankind. This beautiful world scene unfortunately was slowly destroyed by man himself.
This vision for a green world was the driving force that made Joe Schnaier, a leading figure in the crusade for promoting green living. A staunch proponent of alternative energy he co-founded an organization called NRDC or Natural Resources Defense Council in 1970. NRDC has a membership of approximately 350 lawyers, scientists and others in different fields and has a membership of 1.3 million that is continually growing. This organization was instrumental in the passage of the Clean Air Act in 1971. With the Clean Air Act, the vision for a green world is now something that can be achievable and realized.
The Clean Air Act allows citizens in the US to directly sue any person, any company, any establishment for that matter, if in the conduct of their affairs, they cause pollution and damage to the environment. These institutions can now be sued directly for the damage that they cause. This is a step closer to realizing the vision for a green world. Companies must now create safeguards in their daily operations that will help eliminate pollution, and the indiscriminate disposal of waste materials. This is a step closer to the creation of a society that values the environment and a society that promotes green living.
Big accomplishments start with a vision, and this is what Joe Schnaier has shared to the world wide community; a vision of a green world. A green world is a world where carbon emissions are at an ideal level; a green world is a world where plants are cultivated using organic stuff; a green world is a world where animals are raised and fed with organic food. The lasting effect of this vision comes back to the people living in the planet. With lesser carbon emissions, comes a world without global warming. With organic plants and organically fed livestock comes a healthy world population.
